An Over-the-Phone Interpreter (OPI) / Video Remote Interpreter (VRI) at Future Group Translation and Localization Services provides accurate communication between non-English and English speakers during calls. They deliver exclusive services across various fields and industries, ensuring transparency during conversations.

Must Have Requirements:

• Experience in OPI is mandatory
• Security Clearance (if not available, assistance will be provided)
• Citizenship or Green Card

Your Responsibilities:

• Answer calls professionally, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct
• Be prepared to take notes during calls
• Familiarize with industry-specific vocabulary, especially healthcare and medical fields
• Render messages accurately and completely, without adding or omitting information
• Provide high-quality customer service during interpreting
• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient clients and the speaker by providing accurate interpretation
• Participate in internal professional training
• Seek new professional certifications
• Communicate and report to your team leader
• Comply with dress code for video remote interpreting

Background and Experience:

• Fluent in English and native in Spanish
• At least 1 year of over-the-phone interpretation experience with a reputable company
• Good knowledge of medical terminology
• Legal terminology knowledge is a plus
• Certifications like PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA are advantageous
• High school diploma in native language
• High emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance
• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory skills

Technical Requirements:

As this role is fully remote, ensure your home office meets these technical standards:

• Dedicated high-speed, secure internet (minimum 20 Mbps download, 10 Mbps upload, wired connection)
• Windows 10 or higher, dual-core 2 GHz processor, at least 8 GB RAM
• Single device (no external devices like phones or tablets)
• External monitors and connectors (if applicable)
• Operate in "High Performance" mode, plugged in
• Headphones: noise-canceling, wired headset with microphone (no wireless or Bluetooth)
