Summary

Vighter recruits healthcare professionals to conduct basic screening assessments and provide healthcare services to individuals detained by Customs and Border Protection (CBP). HCPs work administratively under the Regional Program Managers and clinically under the medical direction of the National Medical Director and Physician Supervisors, in compliance with DHS directives and medical protocols.

Services are delivered at various border locations in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, and Florida, including detention and field settings. Candidates should be comfortable working with diverse populations, including infants, children, pregnant women, and adults, in potentially minimal or secure facilities. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a challenging yet rewarding environment alongside a supportive team.

Qualifications
  • Minimum one year of clinical experience and licensed/certified as a CNA
  • Completion of an accredited US-based CNA training program
  • Current, active, unencumbered healthcare license in the work state
  • Current BLS certification from AHA, Red Cross, or ASHI
  • Experience in detention, correctional, pediatric, or similar settings is preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Compliance with DHS and CBP policies and federal regulations
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and accurate record-keeping
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records systems
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and perform clinical procedures
  • Flexibility to travel and work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Pass criminal background check and drug screening

  • Position is local; no travel pay or per diem for residents within 50 miles
