Ad Astra, Inc. is expanding its network of U.S.-based Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) for Haitian Creole to support IRS and USCIS federal projects. This freelance/contract-based role is fully remote with a flexible schedule and requires U.S. residency and citizenship or a Green Card.

Responsibilities include providing accurate phone interpretation, supporting communications for IRS/USCIS and other federal agencies, and maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.

Qualifications

• Must be based in the United States
• U.S. Citizenship or Green Card is required
• Fluency in English and Haitian Creole
• Prior interpreting experience preferred

Job description

IMPORTANT:This role is only open to candidates who are currently based in the United States and areU.S. Citizens or Green Card holdersdue to federal project requirements. Applications that do not meet these criteria will not be considered.

What You'll Do

1. Provide accurate interpretation via phone (OPI)

Requirements (MANDATORY)

1. Fluency inEnglish and Haitian Creole
2. Must be currently based in the United States
3. U.S. Citizenship or a valid Green Card is required
4. Prior interpreting experience preferred
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Technical Requirements

1. Computer (Windows 10 or newer) with at least 8GB RAM
2. High-speed internet (minimum 20 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload)
3. USB wired headset required (no Bluetooth/wireless devices)
