Job summary

Redstone Commodity Search is seeking a back-to-back bunker trader to join our Houston team. You will be responsible for the physical trading of bunkers across the North American market, executing trades on a back-to-back basis to manage risk and profitability.

The role requires 3+ years in bunker fuels trading, a strong network of supply and demand relationships (LATAM preferred), willingness to travel for business development and conferences, and excellent English and Spanish communication.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in back-to-back bunker fuels trading.
• Network of relationships on supply and demand side, LATAM preferred.
• Willing to travel for business development and conferences.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Trade bunkers physically across the North American market on a back-to-back basis.
• Analyze trends in bunker market pricing to forecast profitability and increase margins.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with suppliers for competitive pricing.
• Build and maintain a portfolio of end-user clients (ship owners, ship managers, etc.).
• Report into Commercial Manager.

Redstone Commodity Search are working with a multinational bunker trading company looking to hire a back-to-back bunker trader join their team in Houston.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

• Responsible for the physical trading of bunkers across the North American market on a back-to-back basis
• Analyse trends in the bunker market including pricing for the marine fuels sector to produce accurate forecasts in order to increase profits
• Develop and strengthen relationships with suppliers to ensure availability and competitive pricing of bunkers
• Build and maintain a portfolio of end user clients for marine fuels (ship owners, ship management companies, etc.)
• Reports into Commercial Manager

Key Qualifications / Experience

• Ideally 3+ years’ experience in back-to-back trading bunker fuels on a back-to-back basis
• Transferable book of relationships (both supply and demand side), ideally with experience in the LATAM market
• Must be willing to travel for business development and conference purposes
• Strong in communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills in both English and Spanish
