Job summary

Redstone Commodity Search is seeking a back-to-back bunker trader to join our team in Houston, focusing on physical trading across the North American market.

You will build supplier relationships, monitor market trends, and develop end-user client portfolios in marine fuels, with travel for business development and conferences expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in back-to-back bunker trading.
• Strong English and Spanish communication and negotiation skills.
• Willing to travel for business development and conferences.
• Based in Houston, with LATAM market exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Trade bunkers physically across North America on a back-to-back basis.
• Analyse bunker market trends and pricing to forecast profits.
• Develop relationships with suppliers for competitive pricing and availability.
• Build a portfolio of end-user clients for marine fuels (ship owners, managers, etc.).
• Reports into Commercial Manager.

Redstone Commodity Search are working with a multinational bunker trading company looking to hire a back-to-back bunker trader join their team in Houston.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

• Responsible for the physical trading of bunkers across the North American market on a back-to-back basis
• Analyse trends in the bunker market including pricing for the marine fuels sector to produce accurate forecasts in order to increase profits
• Develop and strengthen relationships with suppliers to ensure availability and competitive pricing of bunkers
• Build and maintain a portfolio of end user clients for marine fuels (ship owners, ship management companies, etc.)
• Reports into Commercial Manager

Key Qualifications / Experience

• Ideally 3+ years’ experience in back-to-back trading bunker fuels on a back-to-back basis
• Transferable book of relationships (both supply and demand side), ideally with experience in the LATAM market
• Must be willing to travel for business development and conference purposes
• Strong in communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills in both English and Spanish
• Role to be based in Houston
