Job summary

U.S. Urology Partners is seeking a Telephone Triage Nurse to perform telephone triage and nursing assessments, providing professional nursing care following established standards and practices.

The role supports the COUG mission of delivering excellent urologic care in central Ohio and beyond. The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Ohio RN license and at least two years of nursing experience in a medical practice, clinic, or hospital-based health

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Two years of professional nursing experience in a medical practice setting, in a Urology practice, clinic or hospital-based health center preferred.
• Possession of an RN license in the state of Ohio.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Reasoning ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Computer skills to perform this job successfully, including thorough knowledge in computer information systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming telephone calls from patients and assess their medical needs.
• Record clear and concise notes regarding patients’ condition and reaction to drugs and treatments in electronic medical records.
• Receives inbound direct calls for a set of designated providers as well as from a queue for all providers.
• Instruct patient regarding medications and treatment instructions, collection of samples and tests, and arranges for patient testing, procedures and admissions.
• Educate patient on possible lifestyle changes that may be necessary to promote optimal health.
• Functions as patient advocate within the medical system.
