Job summary

United Medical Systems is seeking a Urology Scrub Technician to support OR procedures, including ureteroscopy and laser treatments at our Sarasota facilities. The role requires a 2-year degree and OR experience; Certified Scrub Tech or Surgical Technologist preferred.

You will prepare equipment, maintain inventory, and ensure HIPAA-compliant logs. The position is full-time, non-exempt, on-site with competitive salaries and full benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, and a 401(k)

Qualifications

• Certified Scrub Tech or Certified Surgical Technologist preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience in an operating room setting.
• Urology experience preferred.
• Knowledge of sterilization protocols a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform procedures in accordance with Laser protocols.
• Move and set up ureteroscopy/laser equipment in OR prior to procedure.
• Assist Urologist in performing ureteroscopy and laser procedures.
• Report to facility no later than 60 minutes prior to the start of the procedure.
• Submit complete and legible treatment/billing logs according to HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Review and maintain inventory of supplies and cystoscopy equipment.
• Contact facilities to confirm schedule, number of patient procedures and start times.
• Maintain an after-hours contact at each facility for equipment failure or emergency; coordinate with Laser Supervisor.
• Maintain relationships with physician partners.
• Maintain Policies & Procedure Manuals and review updates prior to inspections.
• Upskill equipment care and prepare transport, cleaning/disinfecting as needed.
• Notify service engineer of any malfunctioning equipment.
• Laser Specialist will wear a company name badge on premises.
