Job summary

United Medical Systems in Ocala, FL is seeking a Urology Scrub Technician to support ureteroscopy and laser procedures in the OR. You will move and set up laser equipment, assist the Urologist, and ensure adherence to laser protocols.

Qualified candidates have a 2-year degree, certification as Scrub Tech or Surgical Tech, prior OR and urology experience, and at least 1 year in an OR setting; Holmium laser experience is a plus. We offer competitive salaries and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Certified Scrub Tech or Certified Surgical Technologist preferred.
• Prior OR experience preferred.
• Urology experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience working in Operation Room setting.
• Knowledge of Holmium Laser utilization is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform procedures in accordance with all Laser protocols.
• Moves and sets up ureteroscopy/laser equipment in OR prior to procedure.
• Assists Urologist in performing ureteroscopy and laser procedures.
• Report to facility no later than 60 minutes prior to the start of the procedure.
• Submit complete and legible treatment/billing logs according to HIPAA policies.
• Reviews and maintains inventory of supplies and cystoscopy equipment.
• Contact facilities to confirm schedule, number of procedures and start times.
• Maintain after-hours contact at each facility for equipment failure or emergencies.
• Maintain relationships with physician partners.
• Maintain Policies & Procedure Manuals and review prior to inspections.
• Upkeep equipment and supplies for efficient and aesthetic procedures; prepare for transport.
