Job summary

Albany Medical Center’s Department of Urology at Albany Medical College seeks a full-time Physician Assistant to join our busy, collaborative general urology practice. This role focuses on comprehensive outpatient urologic care in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities include evaluating and managing a wide range of conditions, in-office procedures, patient education, and documentation in the electronic health record, with a typical 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• License to practice as a Physician Assistant in New York State.
• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records; Epic experience is a plus.
• Ability to collaborate across departments for patient-centered care.
• Maintenance of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a wide range of general urologic conditions.
• See both scheduled patients and same-day urgent add-ons for concerns such as hematuria, urinary tract infections, elevated PSA, and kidney stones.
• Perform in-office procedures, including testosterone and Eligard injections.
• Conduct patient education, follow-up visits, and medication management.
• Collaborate closely with attending urologists, nursing staff, and administrative support staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging and laboratory studies.
• Document patient encounters and treatment plans accurately in the electronic health record.
• Participate in quality improvement and practice efficiency initiatives.
