Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform basic clinical duties and support patient flow within the department.

The role includes front desk tasks such as scheduling, collecting and verifying patient information, and handling documentation while ensuring PHI safety and compliance with UH policies. Training will cover department-specific duties during orientation. This position emphasizes accuracy, empathy, and teamwork in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow.
• Assist with front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
