Job summary

University Hospitals Avon Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform basic clinical duties and help manage patient flow within the department. You will handle front desk tasks, schedule appointments, collect and verify payor information, and ensure accurate patient documentation.

You must follow all UH policies, complete PHI training annually, and comply with the Code of Conduct and overall procedures.

Qualifications

• Front desk duties including scheduling and patient documentation.
• Ability to manage patient flow and support unit operations.
• Compliance with policies and PHI handling requirements.
• Annual PHI training and UH Code of Conduct adherence.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow.
• Responsible for all front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
