Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management seeks a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting. You will room patients, obtain vital signs, document in the electronic medical record, assist with procedures, and support providers to sustain efficient patient flow.

In this role you will handle front desk tasks for the department, schedule patients, verify payer information, and maintain PHI security in compliance with UH policies.

Qualifications

• Provides clinical and administrative support in outpatient setting.
• Rooms patients, obtains vital signs, documents in the electronic medical record, assists with procedures, supports providers, and promotes efficient patient flow while delivering patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow.
• Assist with front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.
• Performs basic patient centered care as delegated by provider
• Provides a safe environment for patients
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
