Job summary

The University Hospitals Pain Management department is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting, including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting in the EMR, and assisting providers to promote efficient patient flow.

You will perform front desk duties such as scheduling, collecting payer information, and maintaining PHI securely, while following department policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Room patients and obtain vital signs.
• Document patient information in the EMR.
• Support providers during procedures and examinations.
• Maintain patient flow and safety in outpatient settings.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow.
• Assist with front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.
• Performs basic patient centered care as delegated by provider
• Provides a safe environment for patients
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.

• Must abide by PHI safeguards and training.
