Qualifications

• Must be certified competent by designee for all medical equipment testing and oriented by RN/LPN according to all job skills required to perform said duties, in the clinic environment.
• Current BLS certification or will achieve within six months of hire.
• Must be able to follow directions and have a working knowledge of computer applications.
• If a CNA, maintains current licensure and meets all regulations required of CMS and IDPH.
• Must be familiar with CPT and ICD codes, through either education or experience as demonstrated by past performance.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and the insurance industry.
• Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Prepares charts for all providers.
• Greets patients and escorts them to exam rooms; records vitals and measures height/weight.
• Documents medical history and current complaints with review of systems.
• Maintains working knowledge of computer applications.
• Answers calls, documents messages and forwards to providers.
• Schedules referrals and tests; arranges clinic appointments.
• Maintains and restocks exam rooms with supplies.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
• Follows infection control standards and regulatory requirements.
• Assists with procedures and cross-trains within the clinic.
• Travels to satellite clinics as needed.
