Job summary

Gibson Area Hospital in Hoopeston, IL is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant for a full-time position. You will perform intake tasks, record vital signs, assist with exams, document in EMR, and support the clinical team under RN/LPN supervision.

The role requires basic clinical data collection, adherence to infection control, ability to handle lab tasks (CLIA waived), venipuncture, and operation of computer systems; current BLS is required or obtainable within

Qualifications

Must be competent by laboratory supervisor/designee for CLIA waived testing, venipuncture, drug screens, and medical equipment testing.
Current BLS certification or will achieve within six months of hire.
Must be able to follow directions and have a working knowledge of computer applications.
If certified, maintains certification in DOT and non-DOT drug screening procedures.

Responsibilities

Greets patients, escorts to exam rooms, records vital signs and documents height/weight.
Obtain and record patient history and current complaints.
Enter verified information into the EMR and ensure accurate medication history.
Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas.
Assist with routine examinations and minor office procedures.
