Job summary

Duke Urology Advanced Practice Provider position in Cary and Durham, NC seeks an experienced clinician to work with attending physicians, collect and document data, conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and provide direct patient care. Primary hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.

to 5 p.m., with flexibility to meet clinic needs. Responsibilities include patient history taking, physical exams, ordering labs, cystoscopies and other procedures, plus participating in teaching, research,

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Master's degree in Nursing.
• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program; Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing medical and surgical problems and prescribe treatments.
• Take patient histories, conduct exams, and document in patient record; write progress notes and summaries.
• Order and schedule laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explain procedures to patients.
• Carry out therapeutic procedures such as catheter placement, cystoscopies, stent removals, and dressing changes.
• Participate in research projects conducted by supervising physician; train new personnel; teach students and residents.
