Job summary

Veterans Health Administration seeks a qualified Urologist to join the Surgery Service. The physician will perform urological procedures, conduct histories and physicals, and provide comprehensive patient care for adult and geriatric populations.

The role requires an MD/DO with a valid US license, completed residency in urology, and strong English communication. Education Debt Reduction Program benefits and full-time employment are available.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
• MD or DO degree from a school approved by VA for the year of completion.
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in the United States or equivalent.
• Completed residency in an accredited core specialty program leading to board eligibility in urology.
• Preferred board certification in urology with 1–3 years of recent surgical experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform urological procedures on patients referred to the Surgery Service by Primary Care and Specialty providers.
• Conduct histories and physical examinations for inpatients and outpatients.
• Provide ongoing inpatient and outpatient care and manage patient treatment plans.
• Order diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, EKGs) as needed.
• Document care by dictating notes (history/physicals, admissions, discharge) and maintain accurate medical records.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely consultations and scheduling of specialized tests.
• Maintain current clinical privileges, licensure, CPR/ACLS, and other required credentials.
