Job Summary
The Department of Urologic Surgery, in collaboration with the UC Davis Medical Group, is seeking a Board-Certified Urologist for the UCD Health Specialty Care Clinic. The position serves as a staff physician focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of urologic conditions, including outpatient and office‑based procedures, with approximately one day per week dedicated to operative cases in the inpatient setting.
Schedule and Work Environment
Clinic hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; one Saturday clinic per month. No on‑call duties. Structured schedule supports a predictable work‑life balance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Unrestricted medical licensure in the State of California
- Board certification or eligibility through the American Board of Urology
- DEA certification
- Fluoroscopy permit
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Completion of an ACGME‑accredited urology training program
- Prior experience performing outpatient and surgical urologic procedures
- Excellent knowledge of clinical practice assessment, diagnostic and treatment practices, and surgical interventions
- Strong clinical judgment and surgical proficiency for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Ability to perform required assessments and document appropriately
- Knowledge of catheterization techniques, urinary devices, and diagnostic procedures (urinalysis, imaging, urodynamics)
- Effective communication with patients, attendings, residents, nurses, and ancillary staff
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a complex patient‑care environment
- Knowledge of hospital policy and procedures related to patient care
- Ability to meet health requirements of a clinical setting and handle confidential matters professionally
- Effective patient education and counseling skills
- Maintain manual dexterity and precision for surgical procedures
- Ability to manage a diverse patient population in ambulatory and surgical settings
