Job summary

Job description

Job Summary

Department of Urologic Surgery, UC Davis Medical Group is seeking a Board-Certified Urologist to serve as a staff physician focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of urologic conditions. The role includes outpatient clinic evaluation and office‑based procedures, with approximately one day per week for operative cases in the inpatient setting.

Clinic hours Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and one Saturday clinic per month. No on‑call duties required. The position is 100% on‑site.

Key Responsibilities
  • 100% clinical practice of urology, including outpatient and surgical care.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Unrestricted medical licensure in California
  • Board certification or eligibility through the American Board of Urology
  • DEA certification
  • Fluoroscopy permit
  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Completion of an ACGME accredited urology training program
  • Prior experience performing outpatient and surgical urologic procedures
  • Excellent clinical judgment and knowledge of diagnostic and treatment practices
  • Strong surgical and procedural skills for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Ability to perform required assessments, articulate patient needs, and document appropriately
  • Knowledge of catheterization techniques and urinary devices; diagnostic procedures (urinalysis, imaging, urodynamics)
  • Effective communication skills with diverse patients and healthcare team
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a busy clinical environment
  • Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures related to patient care
  • Ability to meet health requirements and handle confidential matters
  • Effective patient education and counseling skills
  • Manual dexterity and precision for surgical procedures
  • Ability to manage a diverse patient population across ambulatory and surgical settings
