Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking an X-Ray Technician to perform digital radiographic studies following provider orders and within scope of practice. The role supports patient care under provider direction, ensuring safety and accurate documentation in the EMR and with radiation protection protocols.

The ideal candidate will hold ARRT certification, Virginia licensure, and 1 year of radiology experience; BLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification and state licensure as required (Virginia requires licensure).
• BLS certification preferred or required depending on hire.
• Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology (preferred).
• 1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care (preferred).
• Experience with EPIC EHR and PACS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely performs provider-ordered radiographic examinations with proper patient positioning and radiation protection.
• Sets up and adjusts immobilization equipment; ensures patient safety and professionalism.
• Documents patient encounters within the EMR.
• Determines and selects appropriate exposure factors to safeguard patient and equipment.
• May travel to other facilities and adjust hours to meet patient care needs.
