Job summary

CityVet is hiring Veterinary Technicians (VT) to join our Urgent Care team. The VT supports the Veterinarian by handling urgent medical and surgical tasks and by performing in-house lab work and client education.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
• Understanding of and ability to properly, and safely, restrain animals.
• Knowledgeable on veterinary medical terminology and medication.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Veterinarian in urgent medical and surgical cases.
• Preparing lab samples
• Interpreting cytology samples
• Interpreting urinalysis
• Running in-house lab work
• Preparing samples for send out analysis to Antech
• Inducing, monitoring, and recover anesthetic patients
• Preparing cost estimates
• Filling Prescriptions
• Client education
