Job summary

CityVet is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our Urgent Care team. You will support the Veterinarian by handling urgent medical and surgical cases, preparing samples, and educating clients to ensure efficient daily practice.

We value compassionate pet care and a people-first environment. Candidates should have at least one year in the veterinary field and be comfortable restraining animals; weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age at hire.
• At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
• Understanding of and ability to properly, and safely, restrain animals.
• Knowledgeable on veterinary medical terminology and medication.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Veterinarian in urgent medical and surgical cases.
• Preparing lab samples
• Interpreting cytology samples
• Interpreting urinalysis
• Running in-house lab work
• Preparing samples for send out analysis to Antech
• Inducing, monitoring, and recover anesthetic patients
• Preparing cost estimates
• Filling Prescriptions
• Client education
• Potential for Urgent Care/GP Hybrid schedule; weekends will be required.
