Job summary

UrgentVet Hospitals in North Raleigh is seeking a Full-time Urgent Care Shift Lead to oversee patient care, team leadership, and client service in a fast-paced environment. This role supports the Practice Manager and Lead DVM, ensuring efficient operations across shifts and delivering high-quality veterinary care.

Ideal candidates have healthcare or veterinary experience, able to multi-task, coach staff, and manage schedules.

Qualifications

• Two years of healthcare, veterinary, or service experience.
• Medical terminology training.
• Associate degree or veterinary technician certification preferred.
• Six months management experience preferred.
• Animal handling, restraint, sample collection, and monitoring.
• Phlebotomy, catheter placement, lab analysis, and drug calculation experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, plan, and coordinate staff across shifts to ensure efficient operations.
• Provide outstanding patient care and client service in a fast-paced urgent care setting.
• Coordinate with Practice Manager and Lead DVM for effective communication with clients and hospital teams.
• Assign cases to paraprofessional staff and resolve bottlenecks in medical operations.
• Support scheduling, labor management, and inventory control.
