Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking an Urgent Care Technician to support urgent care and occupational medicine with clerical and clinical duties to ensure smooth operations and quality patient care.

Responsibilities include patient registration in the EMR, triage, vital signs, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and collaboration with nursing staff to deliver efficient, patient-centered care across the Care Now service line.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Medical terminology a plus.

Responsibilities

• Accurately collects and updates patient demographics and insurance information and completes registration in the EMR.
• Assesses patient acuity, escorts patients to exam rooms, collects medical history and vitals, and prepares rooms and instruments.
• Schedules patients for advanced care with specialists and follow-ups as needed.
• Performs point-of-care testing and maintains equipment and rooms; follows chain-of-custody protocols as required.
• Assists nursing staff and providers to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and maintains confidentiality and safety.
