Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network seeks an Urgent Care Technician to support both Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine. You will perform clerical and clinical duties, assess patient acuity, gather histories, take vital signs, and prepare exam rooms for visits.

Responsibilities include point-of-care testing, specimen collection, testing for duty-related drug testing, and assisting nursing staff to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer skills required; familiarity with medical terminology a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient acuity in waiting areas, escort patients to exam rooms, complete intake by gathering medical history and obtaining vital signs, and prepare the patient and room with necessary instruments.
• Schedule patients for advanced care with specialty providers, workers' compensation follow ups, and other clinical services as needed.
• Perform point-of-care testing per protocol and ensure proper cleaning, calibration, and maintenance of equipment and exam rooms.
• Maintain competency in specimen collection and perform Reasonable Suspicion Drug and Alcohol Testing with chain-of-custody protocols.
• Assist nursing staff and Providers to support delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care and a positive, efficient patient experience.
