Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Largo Medical Center in Maryland is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Urgent Care and Advance Urgent Care teams under physician supervision. Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program that includes phlebotomy training.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant licensure or certification per Kaiser standards.
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates flow of patients in the department to optimize throughput.
• Observes patients and notifies the provider or RN if distress is noted.
• Prepares patients to see the provider and assists during and after examination.
• Performs all Medical Assistant skills including venipuncture and IV insertion per competency.
• Provides and reviews written instructions with patients as appropriate.
• Maintains examination and treatment rooms and orders supplies as directed.
• Verifies eligibility and collects payments in accordance with procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
