Optum NY/NJ seeks an Urgent Care Receptionist/Medical Assistant to join our Jericho, NY team. The role combines front-desk duties with clinical support, handling check-ins, scheduling, EHR documentation in Epic, and assisting providers with patient care in a fast-paced Urgent Care setting.

The position supports a 37.5-hour week with varied shifts. Experience in healthcare front office and EHR familiarity are preferred; cross-training as MA is possible.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• 1+ years of customer service or healthcare-related experience.
• Ability to be cross trained as a medical assistant.
• Ability to cover other offices if needed.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Responsabilidades

• Greet patients and check-in; collect or verify demographic information.
• Load or update insurance information as needed.
• Answer calls promptly for all specialties.
• Confirm and schedule appointments; verify eligibility and authorization.
• Scan insurance cards; collect co-payments and balances.
• Post payments and provide receipts; send records to PCP.
• Take vital signs, perform EKGs, assist providers.
• Prepare exam rooms and document encounters in Epic.
• Perform lab tests and QA; handle specimens.
