Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a Radiology Technologist to join the Urgent Care team. You will perform clinical and administrative duties under physician supervision, including patient intake, imaging procedures, venipuncture, and basic nursing tasks as outlined by policy.

Documentation will be in the EMR, with emphasis on patient safety and care quality. The role requires ARRT certification and Maryland, Virginia, or DC state licensure, plus BLS.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited program.
• Completion of an approved Radiologic Technologist program.
• Externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting.
• ARRT Certification.
• Maryland, Virginia, or DC State License.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Code of Conduct and Compliance plans; follows safety and infection control guidelines.
• Prepares and maintains radiology equipment and patient rooms; ensures patient safety and quality of care.
• Performs x-rays under provider orders; forwards images to radiologist for overreads; documents in the medical record.
• Supports patient flow and effective communication with patients and families; assists in patient discharge as needed.
• Provides front desk assistance and basic computer/patient intake tasks as required; administers limited oral medications and injections under supervision.
