Job summary

Haywood Regional Hospital is seeking a Radiology Tech to join the Urgent Care team on a PRN, variable schedule. The role involves performing radiographic exams, verifying orders, and ensuring image quality while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

The team includes two providers, an RN, Rad Tech and Lab Assistant; hours are 8:00am–6:30pm, seven days a week, with duties extending to offload the ER and support immediate care for injuries or illnesses.

Qualifications

• Current state Radiologic Technologist license is required.
• Degree from an approved Radiologic Technology program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• ARRT certification or registry eligible and maintain registry.
• Experience in other x-ray departments, clinics, or medical offices is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review patient history and physician orders; educate patient on procedures, equipment, and exam.
• Prepare and administer contrast media within scope of practice; monitor patient condition and respond to changes.
• Prepare equipment; select exposure factors and imaging parameters; perform safety and QC procedures; troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Position patient and perform imaging procedures; analyze results; identify and resolve imaging quality issues; document scan results.
