Schedule: Full-time, Varied
Radiology Technician (Rad Tech) role at Haywood Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, serving urgent care with a team of providers, RN, Rad Tech, and Lab Assistant, operating 7 days a week from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm.
Responsibilities
- Review patient history and physician orders, educate patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
- When ordered, prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice; monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes as appropriate.
- Prepare equipment and supplies; select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters; implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment; troubleshoot, resolve, and report equipment malfunctions as necessary.
- Position patient and perform imaging procedures; analyze results and identify issues with image quality; take appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure; enter, transmit and report scan results.

Qualifications
- Current state Radiologic Technologist license and degree from an approved course in Radiologic Technology.
- Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Hospital training during two years of Radiologic Technologist program.
- Experience in other x‑ray departments, clinics, or medical offices highly desired.
- Member of American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible and maintain registry once received.
- Desirable to belong to national, state and/or local societies.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
