Job summary

The role requires collaboration with nursing and laboratory staff, adherence to safety protocols, and attention to specimen integrity during transport. Experience in Sunquest and CLM systems is a plus.

Qualifications

• 12 months experience working as a phlebotomist with demonstrated ability to work independently.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy and specimen handling acquired through experience.

Responsibilities

• Safety: dispose of bio-hazardous waste, handle difficult patient situations, follow safety procedures.
• Technical: identify patients, label specimens, perform venipuncture, collect and handle specimens.
• Work Relationship: communicate effectively with nurses and physicians, build client relationships.
• Information Technology: use basic computer applications, manage orders and lab communications.
• Clerical: secure signatures, complete forms, manage reports and inventory.
• Additional duties: use Sunquest/CLM, assess vein suitability, assist in high-volume environments.
