Job summary

Southcoast Health System, Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Intake Representative for the Urgent Care location in Dartmouth, MA. This full-time position (40 hours) covers Day/Evening shifts, Monday–Friday 8:00am–8:30pm and weekends 9:00am–5:30pm with holiday rotation.

The role supports patient access across the organization and ensures accurate patient information for safe care and proper reimbursement. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and computer skills, experience with

Qualifications

• Completion of high school and related courses; Associates degree preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer skills including medical programs.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and other software.
• Over three years health care experience with third-party payers preferred.
• Vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 or signed exemption statement required.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of duties to facilitate patient access throughout the organization.
• Ensure patient information accuracy to insure patient safety and optimal reimbursement to the organization in accordance with SPG policy.
• Determine and actively collect patient liabilities.
• Sign Biomedical waste manifest receipt when vendor picks up waste.
• Required to work weekends and Holidays.
• Expected to stay later than scheduled if a patient checks in close to closing time.
