Ochsner Health in Metairie, LA, is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant with strong patient-care abilities to support scheduling and clinic operations. You will perform vital sign checks, assist providers, and ensure accurate documentation while delivering compassionate service to patients and families.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, BLS certification, and preferred MA training. Prior clinic experience and knowledge of EHR systems are a plus.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant training preferred.
• Related clinic/medical office experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Certificates such as CHAM/CHAA/MA or related certifications preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide excellent customer service to patients, guests, and family members.
• Ensure all required forms are completed and documents are accurate.
• Input demographic and financial information; explain insurance benefits and collect payments.
• Take vital signs and other screenings; document allergy and medication history.
• Prepare patients for exam and explain procedures; answer questions.
• Schedule and reschedule appointments by phone or in person, and route to appropriate departments.
• Comply with DOT/Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing when in occupational health clinics.
• Adapt communication to diverse patient populations and privacy norms.
• Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to policies.
