Job summary

AtlantiCare seeks a Physician Assistant for Urgent Care to provide diagnostic and therapeutic support under supervision, and to advocate for patients within the care team. You will assist in collecting data necessary for surgeons and anesthesiologists, and contribute to quality patient service and outcomes.

Two years of cardiothoracic surgery or operative experience are required, along with a PA/surgical assistant credential. Competitive benefits accompany a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a physical science from an accredited institution is required.
• Completion of an accredited physician assistant/surgical assistant program is required.
• Minimum two years recent experience in cardiothoracic surgery and/or surgery is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic tasks under supervision of the surgeon or anesthesiologist.
• Assists in gathering data for implementation of therapeutic plans.
• Advocates for patients and liaises between patients and physicians.
• Participates in performance improvement efforts and teamwork.
