Job summary

NextCare in Temple, TX is seeking a Full-Time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our urgent care team. The role offers variety, autonomy, and meaningful community impact in a fast-paced clinic.

You will evaluate and treat patients of all ages, perform urgent care procedures, and work a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week with hours from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, including weekends. NextCare emphasizes work-life balance and supportive leadership.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Texas Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license.
• Board certification: NP (ANCC or AANP) with Family NP required.
• Active DEA license (or ability to obtain).
• DOT certification or willingness to obtain (fees covered).
• Active BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting.
• Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging.
• Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, splinting, and wound management.
• Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR.
• Code and bill services appropriately.
• Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks.
• Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values.
