Job summary

NextCare in Temple, TX is seeking a Full-Time Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our urgent care team. This role offers variety, autonomy, and meaningful community impact in a fast-paced, well-supported clinic.

The schedule features three 12-hour shifts with standard clinic hours 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM, seven days a week, and a culture of true work-life balance with no after-hours tasks. You’ll work with experienced clinical teams and receive mentorship and clear guidelines.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Texas PA or NP license.
• Board certification: NCCPA (PA) or ANCC/AANP (Family NP).
• Active DEA license (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to treat patients of all ages.
• BLS certification.
• EHR proficiency.
• Willingness to work rotating weekends and holidays.
• DOT certification or willingness to obtain (fees covered).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting.
• Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging.
• Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, splinting, and wound management.
• Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR.
• Code and bill services appropriately.
• Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks.
• Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experience
• Strong procedural skills, including suturing, splinting, and wound care
• Experience with initial X-ray interpretation prior to radiology over-read
• Comfort practicing independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
