Job summary

SouthStar Clinics, part of Community Care Partners, seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its Eunice urgent care and occupational medicine team. You will provide outpatient care, perform procedures, and coordinate referrals in a supportive, patient‑centered environment.

You must hold an unrestricted NP or PA license (or be pursuing licensure in Louisiana). DOT and DEA credentials are required within specified timelines.

Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted PA or NP license in the state or ability to obtain
  • DOT certification within 60 days of hire
  • DEA licensure required
  • Knowledge of treatment and drug interactions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient care in an urgent care setting
  • Deliver care, treatment, and referrals
  • Arrange referrals for non-provided specialties
  • Evaluate patients, perform exams, establish diagnoses and treatment plans
  • Perform clinical procedures within scope
  • Explain diagnosis and treatment goals to patients
  • Maintain accurate documentation with proper coding in the EMR
  • Offer occupational and telemedicine patient care
  • Perform lab and x-ray review
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by Medical Director

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient care on an outpatient basis to include procedures normally performed in an urgent care setting
  • Responsible for the delivery of care, treatment, and referrals.
  • Arrange for referral resources for those medical specialties not provided by the organization for patients of the clinic
  • Evaluate patients to determine the medical condition of the patient, through the performance of physical examinations, thereby, establishing a diagnosis and proposed treatment plan
  • Perform such clinical procedures for patient's benefit which are within scope and skill of practitioner
  • Communicate information to patients regarding diagnosis and treatment goals
  • Maintains accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation with a focus on proper level coding and clinical documentation integrity (CDI) in the electronic medical record
  • Ability to perform occupational and telemedicine patient care
  • Perform non-patient facing duties such as lab and x-ray review
  • Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned by the Medical Director

What’s Required:

  • Current, unrestricted PA or NP license in thestateor the ability to obtain

Compensation: Pay is based on experience, skills and falls within an established range.
