Job summary

Ascension Seton Westlake Urgent Care in Westlake, TX is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our Urgent Care team in an employed, nonprofit health system.

This PRN role requires weekend shifts, and includes multi-site coverage with outpatient imaging and RX services available. You will deliver direct patient care, determine treatment plans, and provide compassionate, patient‑centered care in a physician‑collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Licensure as Nurse Practitioner by Texas Board of Nursing required before hire date.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialing by Texas Board of Nursing required before hire date.
• BLS Provider preferred (AHA or ARC accepted).
• DEA credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct care to treat common illnesses and injuries, and perform procedures and diagnostics.
• Formulate treatment plans by ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic procedures within a physician‑collaborative model.
• Empower patients and families with counseling on wellness, treatment options, and community resources.
• Coordinate care when higher levels of care are needed and ensure timely follow-up with primary care physicians, pediatricians, and specialists.
• Practice with full clinical autonomy and operate at the full scope of your license.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

Ascension Seton is looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join our Urgent Care team. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to provide medical care to patients in the Austin area.

• Join an established team of physicians and APPs.
• Practice setting: Outpatient.
• 1 weekend shifts per month requirement.
• APP coverage will include multi-site care.
• Employed position within a nonprofit health system.
• Deliver direct care to treat common illnesses and injuries, as well as performing procedures and diagnostics. Will conduct patient histories, physical assessments, and interventions to support and deliver compassionate patient care.
• Formulate treatment plans by ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic procedures, ensuring timely intervention and continuity of care within a supportive, physician-collaborative practice model.
• Empower patients and families by providing clear counseling on wellness, treatment pathways, and community resources to improve long-term wellness and self-care.
• Support and coordinate care when higher levels of care are necessary, as well as ensuring timely follow-up with primary care physicians, pediatricians, and specialists. In addition, outpatient imaging, physical therapy, and RX services are available to patients.
• Practice with full clinical autonomy, enabling you to operate at the full scope of your license.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred.

Education

• Master's degree of Nursing required.
