Job summary

NextCare in Thornton, Colorado is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our urgent care team. This role emphasizes autonomy, variety, and meaningful community impact within a fast-paced but well-supported clinic environment.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Colorado NP or PA license.
• PA: NCCPA certification.
• NP: ANCC or AANP certification; FNP required.
• Active DEA license or ability to obtain.
• Active BLS certification.
• EHR proficiency.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays.
• DOT certification required or willingness to obtain; fees covered.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting.
• Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging.
• Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, splinting, and wound management.
• Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR.
• Code and bill services appropriately.
• Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks.
• Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values.
