Job summary

American Family Care in Alabama is seeking a Part-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our urgent care team. You’ll assess and treat patients of all ages, manage acute conditions, and support supervising physicians to deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Practitioner or Certified Physician Assistant with active state license.
• Minimum 2+ years in urgent care, family medicine, or emergency care.
• Ability to perform urgent care procedures and work in a fast-paced clinic.
• Active BLS certification or ability to obtain during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in urgent care.
• Manage acute conditions, infections, and injuries.
• Perform minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage.
• Conduct physicals, including DOT and employment exams.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, X-rays, EKGs).
• Counsel patients on care plans and preventive health strategies.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians and team members to ensure quality care.
