Job summary

American Family Care is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our urgent care team in Alabama. You will assess and treat patients of all ages in a fast-paced setting, collaborating with supervising physicians to provide high-quality care.

You will perform minor procedures, manage acute conditions, and order diagnostics while maintaining comprehensive documentation and patient-centered communication.

Qualifications

• Active state license as NP (ANCC/AANP) or PA (NCCPA)
• 2+ years of experience in urgent care, family medicine, or emergency care
• Active BLS certification or ability to obtain during onboarding

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients in an urgent care setting
• Manage acute conditions, infections, and injuries
• Perform minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, and incisions & drainage
• Conduct physicals including DOT and employment exams
• Order and interpret diagnostics (labs, X-rays, EKGs)
• Counsel patients on care plans and preventive health strategies
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation
• Collaborate with supervising physicians and team members to ensure quality care
