Job summary

American Family Care (AFC) is hiring a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our urgent care team. The role focuses on assessing and treating patients of all ages, with emphasis on acute conditions, minor procedures, and comprehensive physicals in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

The position requires an active NP or PA license, 2+ years in urgent care or related fields, and strong communication with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Active state license as NP or PA.
• 2+ years in urgent care, family medicine, or emergency care.
• Proficient in urgent care procedures and fast-paced clinics.
• Excellent communication and patient-centered approach.
• Active BLS certification or obtain within onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients in urgent care.
• Manage acute conditions, infections, injuries.
• Perform minor procedures (suturing, splinting, I&D).
• Conduct DOT and employment physicals.
• Order and interpret labs, X-rays, EKGs.
• Counsel on care plans and preventive health.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians and team.
