Job summary

American Family Care is seeking a PRN Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Malden, MA to support an urgent care team. You will assess and treat patients of all ages, perform minor procedures, and conduct DOT/employment exams while ordering tests and documenting care.

The role emphasizes collaboration with physicians and flexible scheduling to meet community needs in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

• > Active state license as NP (ANCC/AANP) or PA (NCCPA)
• > 2+ years in urgent care, family medicine, or emergency care
• > Proficient in urgent care procedures and fast-paced clinics
• > Excellent communication and patient-centered mindset
• > Active BLS certification or ability to obtain within onboarding

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
• Manage acute conditions, infections, and injuries
• Perform minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, and incision & drainage
• Conduct comprehensive physicals, including DOT and employment exams
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, X-ray, EKG)
• Counsel patients on care plans and preventive health strategies
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation
• Collaborate with supervising physicians and team members to ensure quality care
