Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care in Franklin, TN, is seeking experienced Medical Assistants to join our team. You will provide clinical care to patients in urgent care, occupational health, and workers’ compensation settings, including vitals, histories, and basic procedures.

This full-time role includes rotating 36-40 hour weeks with 12-hour shifts and occasional PRN; benefits include medical, dental, vision, and retirement options. X-ray and phlebotomy may be performed under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS Certification required.
• Certified Medical Assistant is preferred.
• Experience performing X-Rays is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly and provide clear communication about next steps and wait times.
• Offer solutions to patient concerns and seek help in emergent or hazardous situations.
• Ensure timely follow-up for lab and x-ray results; execute follow-up calls with urgency.
• Support front desk staff with check-in and check-out procedures when needed.
• Accurately document vital signs, histories, medications, allergies, and other pertinent details.
• Assist with patient transfers, procedures, and lab work under provider supervision.
• Prepare and shoot X-Rays, ensuring proper positioning, safety, radiation protection, and shielding.
• Complete all required visit documentation and maintain stocked, clean exam rooms.
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality standards.
• Perform phlebotomy, injections, and other clinical procedures as trained and directed.
