Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care in Franklin, TN is seeking experienced Medical Assistants to join our team. The role includes clinical care in urgent care, occupational health and workers’ compensation settings, with responsibilities like recording histories, vital signs, and preparing patients for provider evaluation.

The position requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and BLS certification; CMA is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred depending on role.
• BLS Certification required; CMA certification preferred.
• Experience performing X-Rays desirable for the position.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and communicate next steps and wait times clearly.
• Document vital signs, histories, medications, allergies and other data.
• Assist with patient transfers, procedures, and lab work under supervision.
• Prepare and shoot X-Rays with attention to safety and positioning.
• Maintain infection control, safety and patient confidentiality standards.
• Perform phlebotomy and injections as trained and directed.
