Job summary

Physicians Care in Dayton, TN is seeking experienced Medical Assistants to provide clinical care in urgent care, occupational health, and workers’ compensation settings. Responsibilities include initial evaluations, vital signs, x-ray testing, patient preparation for provider evaluation, and accurate documentation. Full-time and PRN schedules available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS Certification.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Experience performing X-Rays is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly and provide clear communication about next steps and wait times.
• Offer solutions to patient concerns and seek help in emergent or hazardous situations.
• Ensure timely follow-up for lab and x-ray results; execute follow-up calls with urgency.
• Support front desk staff with check-in and check-out procedures when needed.
• Accurately document vital signs, histories, medications, allergies, and other pertinent details.
• Assist with patient transfers, procedures, and lab work under provider supervision.
• Prepare and shoot X-Rays, ensuring proper positioning, safety, radiation protection, and shielding.
• Complete all required visit documentation and maintain stocked, clean exam rooms.
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality standards.
• Perform phlebotomy, injections, and other clinical procedures as trained and directed.
