Job summary

Advocate Health in Monroe, NC seeks a per diem Medical Assistant for the GCMG Urgent Care: Monroe location. The role supports patient rooming, vital signs, specimen collection, POCT, labs, vaccines, and clinic coordination.

PRN 12-hour shifts with coverage across multiple nearby sites are available. The candidate must have a high school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, with BLS/AHA certifications as required by the department.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, or equivalent military training per DD214.
• Current Certified Medical Assistant credential or eligible per department requirements.
• Proficient in using electronic medical records and related computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients, taking vital signs, reviewing medical history and allergies.
• Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, labeling and processing.
• Assist providers with procedures and administer vaccines safely.
• Maintain CLIA-waived lab testing per standing orders and ensure proper documentation.
