Job summary

Hometown Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in both clinical and administrative tasks. You will take patient histories, monitor vital signs, and assist with exams and procedures to ensure smooth patient flow.

The role requires basic testing, phlebotomy, documentation, and coordination of records and referrals. We value independent workers with 1–2 years of experience in a physician setting and CPR certification to uphold high standards of patient care.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in a physician practice or clinic setting preferred.
• Basic computer skills, including Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• CPR certification (current or willing to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and record vital signs.
• Perform basic screenings and point-of-care tests (strep, influenza, glucose, urinalysis, etc.).
• Collect laboratory samples via phlebotomy and document results.
• Assist with examinations and procedures under supervision.
• Schedule records and referrals, and coordinate patient care.
• Maintain infection control and sterilization; ensure HIPAA compliance.
