Job summary

Hometown Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative tasks in a fast-paced setting. You will assist healthcare professionals, take histories, record vital signs, and help with exams and screenings to ensure patient comfort and safety.

Applicants should have 1–2 years in a clinic, basic EMR skills, and CPR certification. This role requires flexibility for alternating daytime shifts and region-wide travel to care centers as needed.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in a physician practice or clinic.
• Basic computer skills with EMR familiarity.
• Ability to work independently with good clinical judgment.
• CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and obtain vital signs.
• Perform basic screenings such as vision, hearing, urine drug screens, EKGs and PFTs.
• Collect blood and other samples via phlebotomy and document results.
• Administer injections and complete required paperwork.
• Conduct point-of-care tests like strep, glucose, influenza, pregnancy tests.
• Dispense and document medications and other treatments.
• Maintain sterile technique and equipment, autoclave use.
• Coordinate records for ancillary care and referrals.
• Assist providers with exams and procedures, including minor surgeries.
• Protect patient confidentiality and manage scheduling and triage.
