Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our urgent care centers in the United States. The role supports our mission to deliver high-quality, compassionate care with a smooth patient experience.

You will register patients, take vital signs, assist providers, and perform point-of-care tests while maintaining records. A Medical Assisting program and MA certifications are highly valued; teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of Medical Assisting Program preferred.
• Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Front desk or patient registration experience preferred.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.
• Certification / Equivalent Experience: MA certs listed.
• CPOE certification required within two weeks of start.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance and documentation
• Schedule appointments and process co-pays
• Prepare patients for examination and record medical history
• Perform vital signs and preliminary patient assessments
• Conduct point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG)
• Assist providers with patient care and procedures
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical records
• Answer patient questions and coordinate referrals
• Perform opening/closing duties and equipment quality checks
